Five Star Electric’s location in San Antonio, Texas is home to thousands of veterans from all of our military branches. Recently, we have become involved in the Wounded Warrior Project by hiring a Wounded Warrior in transition. Programs like the Wounded Warrior Project help transition soldiers from the battlefield to business. This project honors and empowers those who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, from their military service on or after September 11, 2001.
Five Star Electric hired an outstanding asset to the team, Josh Michael, as an outside salesman. He had the following to say:
“Five Star Electric has been very helpful in my transition from the Army. I was hit by a mortar round in Sept 2011. My wounds were severe enough to be transferred to Ft. Sam’s Warrior Transition Battalion. I spent a year and a half recovering from the blast. In the Wounded Warrior Transition unit they are serious about guys like me going to school or getting a job when they leave the Army. In January 2013, Five Star allowed me to intern a few days a week in the panel shop where I gained a better understanding of the company Since I’m partially disabled they made sure I had everything I needed to help in the shop safely. I medically retired June 25, 2013 with a purple heart, combat infantry badge, and many other medals and was hired full time as an outside sales representative. Five Star Electric has gone above and beyond to accommodate me and I am happy be a part of their team, and its bright future.”
